It comes with everything I need to be able to use the radio. My original purpose of this was to keep in contact with my husband when we go on camping trips and he goes off hiking into the woods. The radio is also good to have with my emergency supplies so that I have a way to communicate in case of an emergency. Now, I am having fun learning about this and I plan on using this more often. This oddly named radio is the new replacement, and it comes with just about every bell and whistle possible. First off its rechargeable and comes with its own handy charging base, making it ready to roll anytime you are. Secondly it features 16 channels for trouble free service and even a voice operated function. This comes with a mini cd with instructions and setup for the radio, along with a fairly bare bones one page instruction page. The battery partially charged and plastic wrapped attached to the phone, just slide off the plastic and click it back into place to get started.
